SEO On-Page Optimization

On-page optimization (AKA on-page SEO)refers to all measures that can be taken directly within the website in order to improve its position in the search rankings. Examples of this include measures to optimize the content or improve the meta description and title tags.
In the search engine optimization, on-page optimization refers to factors that have an effect on the  Web site or Web page listing in a search results. These factors are controlled by you or by coding on your page. Examples of on-page optimization include actual HTML code, meta tags, keyword placement and keyword density.


Head Section Optimization



Head section optimization mainly focuses on the snippet  and it  includes SEO title, URL, and meta description.

Snippet can make more attractive by using the star rating  is termed as rich snippet.

1. Title tags


Title tag define the title of your web page or document. They’re the first part showing in a snippets of our web pages. When we are  writing our title tag, it should be always short, clear and duplication is not a good practice.

The ideal length of a title should  50-60 characters or 512 pixelIf our title tag is more than 60 characters, Google will only show the first 60 characters.Google cannot display long sentences which have more than 512 pixel width.If it exceeds 60 characters google wont be able to show the full title at the end there will be 3 dots for those words remaining in the title.

The title tag represents the whole content of your webpage. So we must care about these things,
  • No spelling mistakes.
  • No grammatical errors.
  • Title should be in bold letters.
  • The title must be clear and impressive.
  • Title should be unique.
  • Use capital letters only at the begging of a word.

2.URL  


A URL is mainly used to point webpage, a component of a webpage or a program on a website. The resource name consists of:
  • A domain name identifying a server or the web service.
  • A program name or a path to the file on the server.

3. Meta description

   

Meta description is a short description about the web services and focusing ares also an important one. We cannot avoid it and  if we does not give meta description, The google automatically take some of the   contents as meta description. 
So we must have consider  these factors.
  • Short description.
  • Limit with in 20 words. 
  • Unique.
 For  a page the meta description should be in 155 to 160, That is pixel width of 1024.

Body section optimization

Body tags:


H1, H2, H3, H4, H5, H6 are the body tags. H1 tag is the  identity part of body section. H1 tag are  generally used for main heading. 8-10 words can be used in H1 tag.  If the H1 is not specified, google take heading from H2 tag if H2 is not there H3.

Content optimization

Content is the most descriptive  part of the  website. Content can be a text, link, images or any other things. The main part or visible part of content is anchor text which is hyperlink added to the text. Hyperlink can act as a  link. So focused keyword should not be used as anchor text. 
Rules which be followed  content  is writing are
  • Starting sentence can be  include focusing keyword.
  • Use simple sentences up to 20 words.
  • Put space before full stop and comma. 

Keyword Density


The keyword density which specify the  number of keywords appearing on that page compared to the total number of words on that page.  2-5%  is the normal way and keyword density depends upon the length of the content. 
  


Image optimization

Main factors of image optimization are                                      
  • Alt name.                                                                     
  • File name.
  • Content which is near  to the image.



The Alt name is the most important image optimization factor, Alt stands for alternate.






Authorship optimization



Authorship optimization is the way to connect the article authors with google profile. It disclose the identity of the author to the content readers. Attribute rel="author" confirms the authorship. Through authorship, it improves the validity and identity of the article.


How to do authorship optimization


  • Create a google plus profile, If you have the account just login. 
  • Give the label name on your page. Then click LINK button > Add URL of google plus profile > OK
  • At the left top of the page, click HTML > Add attribute rel="author" into the anchor tag.
  • Save the page.

It does not sell anything you could pick up & put in your pocket. We never pay it any money directly. Yet now, after its latest earning reports Google's parent company alphabet has a market capitalization larger than Apple's. That makes it the most valuable company in the world worth nearly $520bn

So how did it achieve this enormous feat ? Google was the brainchild of Larry Page and Sergey Brin. It began in January 1996 as a research project done by them when they were both phd students at Stanford University, California. While conventional search engines ranked results by counting how many time the search terms appeared on the page, the two theorized about a better that analyzed the relationships among web sites.They called the new technology Page rank. In 2001 Google received a patent for its page rank mechanism. By that time the name Google had found its way in to everyday language causing the verb "Google" to be added in to the oxford English Dictionary. 

The 9/11 terror attack was a turning point for Google. Frantic searches by millions of panic people was fruitless as the search engine was unable to provide sufficient information. This failure on the part of Google was met with heavy criticism. This led to several brainstorming sessions by the Google team to find better solutions for a brighter future. Which is then followed by giving away the SEO starter guide to the public.

In search engine optimization, off-page optimization refers to factors that have an effect on the Web site or Web page listing in natural search results. These factors are off-site in that they are not controlled by you or the coding on your page. Examples of off-page optimization include things such as link popularity and page rank

Search engine works based on the following steps:
  • crawling
  • caching
  • indexing 
   
Crawling is the process of crawling websites to get information about that website. After taking snapshot it is saved in the database. This is done by web crawlers or spiders or robots.

Caching is fetching data related to the website and storing it in the database.

Indexing is the process of listing the fetched web pages. Web masters controls website related activities.


SEO TYPES

classified into two categories:


  • White Hat SEO
  • Black Hat SEO



White Hat SEO is the ethical practice of optimizing web pages and the 


Black Hat SEO is the non-ethical practice of optimizing web pages.

Search engines mainly works based on the algorithms. In olden days, search engines were used which is based on the web page contents.These contents are considered as keywords in a web page. Thus users started to practice keyword stuffing like adding too many keywords in web page in order to obtain high rank. The different types of keyword stuffing are adding keywords in blank spaces and adding many keywords and making their pixel size small, meta keyword tag which gives a brief description of web pages.

content specific algorithm was replaced by link specific algorithm by making changes in the algorithm. Those who have more links concerned to a website achieves high rank so users tried to put more links in a web page which ultimately lead to link selling. Thus google provide a quality link specific algorithms. Quality of the page defines the page rank which can be a maximum of 10. Only few websites achieved page rank 10 like  US government site etc.

Last page rank updation was done on 2013. High page rank link selling was started to practice by users so Google introduced passing juice external links that is SEO link juice which means websites with high page ranks, if giving more links to another websites then their page rank decreases automatically. Later 2016 April 10 the Google hide the page rank.

Nofollow links

  In order to stop that equity passing Google was introduced the new concept rel=”nofollow” in the links.

Google Adwords  and Google Adsense

Google Adwords is used for adding keywords in advertisements. Pay-per-click is also called as cost per click which is defined as a method of paying website owner on each click.

Google Adsense used by website publishers for putting advertisements on web pages and earn money when visitors click or view the add.Which was one of the biggest turnover for the company.

Panda  updated was done by google  in 2011 to remove content spamming. It is also known as farmer updation. The main types of content spamming are content duplication or content plagiarism, using low quality contents with grammatical errors, publishing thinny pages with less content, keyword stuffing, content spinning where paragraphs are spinned. Later 2014 the new versions of Panda was launched to remove the content duplicated websites. And  it became permanent filter in algorithm. Web pages or sites which are on threat are saved into sandbox where their ranking is at lower position.
  • Penguin updation

Penguin updation  was done by google  in 2012  is related to removal of link spamming. The various types of link spamming are link exchange, link selling, link farming, wiki spamming that is obtaining links from Wikipedia after editing that content, low quality directories, comment spamming. Guest blogging, adding links in an owners blog by a guest user is also considered as spamming.
  • Hummingbird updation
